The Canon PowerShot SD780IS is a venerable camera in a sea of also-rans and wannabes. With its state of the art optics and sensors, your photos will look amazing. Canon has spent a great deal of time tweaking their automatic settings and including handy features such as facial detection and image stabilization, helping to make every shot great. We've also found that 3x optical zoom is more than enough for normal, every day use. And now, for the first time, this Canon PowerShot offers HD video recording and an HDMI port, giving the Flip and other mini-video recorders a run for their money. This is the camera to own. Don't forget to pick up a nice, big SD card (the digital equivalent of film, but lasts forever) so you can start snapping from day one.
